The Blue Christmas Collection
Dreamy atmospheres for a fairy-tale that colors blue. Designed by Antonio Aricò - LPWK, the Blue Christmas collection is a tale of stories and characters that come to life, transforming itself into a series of objects designed to live and spread the magic of feasts. Blue Christmas encloses all the emotion of a fairy tale and brings with it the taste of winter when the light fades and the nights are longer than the day. The Blue Christmas collection includes a number of items - mugs and decorations - perfect for those who love to welcome Christmas at the party house.
Graduated from the Polytechnic School of Milan and Alta Scuola Politecnica, Antonio felt from an early age a strong interest and energy in finding his own language and way to define his love for design. He has presented a few iconic objects - the Watering Kettle Cans, the Swing Chair or the Water Pitcher Block and created a few successful collections like "Back Home" and "˜Taste of Wood". His work has already been shown around the world, lately with the exhibition "The New Italian Design" that went around the world: San Francisco, Santiago de Chile, Cape Town and he has been invited for various workshops: in Venice Biennial with IN-Residence at the Swiss Pavilion and in Australia with the RMIT university. Antonio's latest highlights: an invitation of Lidewij Edelkoort to participate at the Nomadismi exhibition in Milan in 2013, his Water Pitcher Block and Oil Tank being selected by Rossana Orlandi for Larte restaurant in the Edita Materia Collection in Milan in 2014.
Founded in 1921 as a “Workshop for the processing of brass and nickel silver sheet metal, with foundry”, Alessi has always stood out for the high quality of its products.
In almost a century of history, the company has gradually evolved to become one of the leading “Factories of Italian design”, capable of applying its expertise and excellence in design management to many different product types.
Open to change and international development, Alessi at the same time has a strong bond with the traditions and cultural background of its area and continues to be synonymous with handcrafted objects produced with the help of machines.
Alessigraphy: the geography of Alessi production
Since the Company's Foundation in 1921 the Majority of Alessi Products have Been Manufactured through the Cold Working of Metals, a Tradition that is Kept Alive Today by the Skilled Workers at the Crusinallo Plant in Omegna.
Over time, Alessi also began to work with many other materials, such as porcelain, glass, wood, and plastic. A specific production method was developed for each one. Even when production takes place outside the Crusinallo plant, Alessi’s guidelines ensure the company’s original production quality standards, continuing to reconcile industrial technological complexity with an artisanal eye for detail.
The objects produced from the different materials are manufactured in various production plants across the world. They remain original Alessi objects in that they are conceived with the same design excellence and produced with the same attention to quality that sets the company’s products apart.
