Use & Care
Allow one stick of butter to soften enough to pack firmly into the bell-shaped lid.
Press the butter firmly against the inside of the bell and remove air pockets.
Add approximately 1/3 cup of cold water to the crock base, or enough to create a seal around the inverted bell.
Invert the filled bell into the water-filled base.
Change the water every 2 to 3 days using fresh cold water.
Keep the crock away from direct sunlight, the stove, and other heat sources.
For best results, use regular butter rather than whipped or light butter.
Use all remaining butter before adding a fresh batch.
Wash and completely dry the bell before repacking with fresh butter.
The crock is dishwasher safe.

Soft Butter Without Refrigeration
The Butter Bell crock uses a simple French-inspired water-seal system. Softened butter is packed firmly into the bell-shaped lid, cold water is added to the base, and the lid is inverted into place. The water forms a seal around the bell to help keep the butter fresh and spreadable.
The Art Nouveau design adds blue botanical motifs and flowing organic lines to the familiar Butter Bell shape. The pattern was created as an original design inspired by collectible French stoneware and decorative ceramic containers.
