Zassenhaus Classic Bread Slicer - Cream
Manual bread slicer with Solingen-made stainless steel blade, adjustable 1–18 mm slice thickness, and cream lacquered metal housing
The Zassenhaus Classic Bread Slicer in Cream gives you evenly cut slices of homemade bread with the control of a traditional hand-cranked machine. Its specially serrated stainless steel circular blade is made in Solingen, Germany, while the sturdy die-cast metal housing, beechwood base, and smooth hand crank make slicing straightforward. Adjust the thickness from 1 to 18 mm for everything from thin sandwich bread to substantial slices of crusty sourdough.
Why Order from Design & Grace
Authorized Zassenhaus retailer: Design & Grace is an authorized Zassenhaus retailer, so you receive genuine Zassenhaus products backed by the full manufacturer warranty.
Ships from Texas: Your Zassenhaus bread slicer is carefully packed and shipped from our Texas facility.
Consistent slices every time: The adjustable cutting mechanism makes it easier to portion homemade loaves evenly without relying on an electric slicer or cutting each slice by hand.
Traditional Bread Slicing with Precise Control
Zassenhaus has made mechanical kitchen equipment since 1867, and bread slicers were part of its range as early as 1904. The Classic continues that tradition with a substantial lacquered die-cast metal body, natural beechwood base, and simple hand-cranked operation.
The stainless steel circular blade is manufactured in Solingen, Germany, with a specialized serrated edge designed to cut through firm crusts and softer bread interiors. A continuously adjustable thickness control lets you select slices from 1 to 18 mm, while the clockwise-turning crank provides direct control over cutting speed.
Four suction feet secure the slicer to a clean, smooth countertop. The cream lacquered housing and natural beechwood components give it the familiar appearance of traditional European kitchen equipment, with a mechanical design that can be maintained rather than replaced as a complete appliance.
Signature Features
Solingen-made stainless steel blade: The circular blade features a specialized serrated edge for cutting firm crusts and softer bread interiors with consistent results.
Adjustable slice thickness: Continuously adjustable from 1 to 18 mm, approximately 0.04 to 0.7 inches, for thin toast, sandwich bread, and thicker artisan slices.
Manual hand-crank operation: The smooth-running crank lets you control slicing speed without electricity.
Die-cast metal housing: A substantial lacquered metal body provides rigidity and stability during regular bread slicing.
Solid beechwood base: The wooden platform supports the loaf as it passes through the blade and provides a stable foundation.
Beechwood crank handle: A smooth wooden grip provides a comfortable hold during repeated slicing.
Four suction feet: Secure the machine to a suitable smooth countertop to help prevent movement during operation.
Classic cream finish: The warm cream lacquered housing pairs with natural beechwood for a traditional kitchen appearance.
Replaceable components: Replacement blades, cranks, gears, and wooden bases are available, helping support maintenance and long-term ownership.
No electricity required: The fully mechanical design works anywhere you have a suitable stable surface.
From Our Founder
"If you bake bread regularly, a good manual slicer makes a noticeable difference. You can choose exactly how thick you want each slice, and the Solingen blade handles crusty loaves particularly well. I also appreciate that Zassenhaus offers replacement parts. It's a traditional mechanical tool you can look after and continue using for years."
