Use & Care
Set the brewer securely over the included Tritan™ carafe.
Add ground coffee and water according to your preferred AeroPress recipe.
Stir, steep, and press using steady, controlled downward pressure.
Use only a sturdy vessel designed to withstand pressing.
AeroPress advises against pressing the XL into glass mugs or glass carafes.
AeroPress strongly discourages the inverted brewing method because it is less stable and increases the risk of hot-liquid spills.
Eject the used coffee grounds promptly after brewing to help preserve the silicone seal.
Rinse after daily use.
Wash periodically with lukewarm water, gentle soap, and a soft cloth.
Remove the silicone seal occasionally and clean it inside and out with warm water and dish soap.
Top-rack dishwasher cleaning is permitted, though repeated dishwasher use may wear printed markings more quickly.
Store the brewer with the seal pushed completely through the chamber rather than compressed inside it.

The AeroPress XL Coffee Maker doubles the capacity of the Original for larger morning cups or coffee for two without changing the brewing method that makes AeroPress so useful. Fast immersion, paper micro-filtration, and gentle air pressure work together to produce smooth, full-bodied coffee with very little bitterness and no grit, while the included 20-ounce Tritan™ carafe gives the larger brewer a sturdy surface for pressing and serving.

The AeroPress Method at Double Capacity
The XL uses the same three-part brewing approach as the Original. Coffee first extracts through fast immersion, then passes through a paper micro-filter as gentle plunger pressure pushes the finished brew into the carafe. The result has the body associated with immersion brewing but without the sediment of a French press.
The larger format also opens up more room for experimentation. Brew a full 20-ounce batch, make concentrated espresso-style coffee for milk drinks, prepare iced coffee or cold brew, or adjust the grind and steep time around the beans you are using.
