Use & Care
Fill the lower chamber with water up to the safety valve without covering it.
Insert the funnel filter and fill with ground coffee suitable for moka brewing.
Level the grounds without tamping or compressing them.
Check that the filter plate and sealing gasket are correctly fitted before securely joining the two chambers.
Place the coffee maker on a gas, electric, or ceramic stovetop over low to medium heat.
Keep gas flames beneath the base rather than extending up the sides.
Do not use directly on an induction cooktop. A compatible induction adapter is required for induction cooking.
Remove from the heat when brewing is complete.
Never operate the moka pot without water.
Allow the coffee maker to cool before opening or cleaning.
After each use, rinse the chambers and removable filter components with clean water.
Do not use detergent, abrasive cleaners, or metal scouring pads.
Do not place in the dishwasher.
Dry all components thoroughly before storage.
Inspect the safety valve regularly to ensure it remains clear.
Inspect the gasket and filter plate for wear and replace them with compatible 18-cup Bialetti components as needed.
Store clean and dry, with the chambers loosely assembled.

The Original Moka Express, Sized for Sharing
The Moka Express was introduced by Alfonso Bialetti in 1933, bringing a simple stovetop brewing method into Italian homes. The familiar eight-sided aluminum body remains central to its design, along with the little man with the mustache that has become Bialetti's signature.
The 18-cup version provides approximately 810 ml, or 27.4 fl. oz., of brewed moka coffee. Bialetti's cup measurements refer to small Italian coffee servings rather than full-size American mugs. This larger model is particularly useful when several people want coffee at the same time or when preparing concentrated coffee to serve with heated milk.
Brewing is straightforward. Water heats in the lower chamber, rises through ground coffee in the funnel filter, and collects in the upper chamber ready to pour. The aluminum construction works on gas, electric, and ceramic stovetops, while the heat-resistant handle and integrated spout make serving manageable even at this larger capacity.
