Two Angles, Held Securely
The magnetic angle support positions the blade at either 15° or 20°. The 15° side is intended for fine blades made from hard steels such as quality carbon and Damascus steel, while the 20° side creates a more durable edge for European chef’s knives, outdoor knives, and pocket knives. HORL’s Grip Pad and strong magnets help maintain a secure hold throughout sharpening.

Diamond Grinding and Ceramic Honing
The standard diamond grinding disc handles the initial sharpening. HORL’s block diamond construction removes up to 80% more steel than the HORL 2 version and produces a more uniform grinding pattern. Turn to the ceramic honing disc afterward to remove the burr and smooth the finished cutting edge.

HORL Quick Lock makes the HORL 3 expandable. Compatible HORL 3 grinding, refining, and polishing discs can be twisted on and off without tools, giving you room to move beyond the included sharpening surfaces as your knives or sharpening preferences change.

Use & Care
Choose the 15° or 20° side of the magnetic angle support according to the knife and desired edge geometry.
Place the knife against the HORL Grip Pad with the cutting edge exposed.
Use the Diamond Grinding Disc - Standard first to establish or refresh the bevel.
Roll the sharpener evenly along the full cutting edge from heel to tip.
Work both sides until the bevel is consistent and a burr has developed.
Turn the sharpener around and use the Smooth Ceramic Honing Disc to remove the burr and refine the edge.
Use light, controlled pressure rather than forcing the sharpener against the blade.
Keep the solid walnut body dry and wipe it with a soft cloth as needed.
Keep the sharpening discs clean and dry between uses.
Do not place the sharpener or magnetic angle support in the dishwasher.
Use only HORL 3 Quick Lock-compatible accessory discs.
