Use & Care
The curved cutting edge supports a controlled rocking motion for chopping and mincing.
Use a wooden or knife-friendly plastic cutting board.
Avoid cutting directly on glass, marble, ceramic, stone, or metal surfaces.
Do not use the knife for cutting bones, frozen foods, or other excessively hard ingredients.
Hand washing is recommended to preserve the cutting edge and handle finish.
Wash individually with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft sponge or cloth.
Although the manufacturer identifies Maestro knives as dishwasher safe, hand washing provides better long-term knife care.
Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool, and harsh detergents.
Dry the blade and handle immediately after washing.
Maintain the plain cutting edge with a suitable honing steel or sharpening stone.
Sharpen as needed using appropriate equipment and the manufacturer's recommended edge geometry.
Do not twist, pry, or apply sideways force to the blade.
Store in a suitable knife block, protective sheath, or other storage system that protects the cutting edge.
Keep sharp knives away from children.

The Knife You'll Reach for Every Day
An 8-inch chef's knife is the foundation of a practical kitchen knife collection. The Maestro's broad blade handles the work that occupies most of your preparation time, from chopping carrots and onions to mincing parsley, slicing chicken, and preparing larger vegetables.
The blade's curved cutting edge supports a natural rocking motion for herbs and finely chopped ingredients, while its length gives you room for longer slicing cuts. The pointed tip is useful for more controlled work, and the broad blade makes it easy to gather chopped ingredients from the cutting board.
The Maestro blade is precision-forged from NITROX stainless steel, developed by Tarrerias Bonjean in collaboration with steel manufacturer ArcelorMittal. Its 16% chromium content provides corrosion resistance, while a hardness of approximately 56 HRC balances edge retention with straightforward sharpening and maintenance.
The full tang extends through the handle, supporting a balanced, stable cutting feel. A substantial bolster adds weight near the grip, while the contoured black polyoxymethylene (POM) handle is secured with three rivets. The result is a comfortable, durable knife designed for the preparation tasks you perform every day.

From Our Founder
"An eight-inch chef's knife is probably the most useful knife you can own. It needs to feel balanced, hold a good edge, and be comfortable when you're preparing an entire meal. What I like about the Maestro is its forged construction and straightforward NITROX steel. It's a substantial French-made knife that's designed to be used regularly and maintained without complicated sharpening equipment."
