French Press Brewing, Framed by Bark
Barkoffee uses the straightforward immersion method of a French press. Add ground coffee and hot water, allow the coffee to steep, then lower the filter before pouring. The 24.3 fl oz capacity is sized for up to eight cups according to Alessi.
The perforated stainless steel pattern comes from the Bark collection, inspired by the trees surrounding the designers' home and studio in Tuscany. Here it forms a protective outer structure around the heat-resistant glass while giving the coffee maker a distinct visual identity on the table.
Signature Features
Press filter brewing: Full immersion gives you direct control over coffee strength and steeping time without paper filters or electricity.
24.3 fl oz capacity: Holds up to eight Alessi-designated cups for serving several guests or making a larger morning batch.
18/10 stainless steel structure: The patterned metal frame gives the press durability and the recognizable look of the Bark collection.
Heat-resistant glass: Lets you see the coffee as it brews and keeps the preparation visually open from steeping through serving.
Dual-purpose design: Alessi specifies Barkoffee for use as either a press filter coffee maker or an infuser.
Boucquillon & Maaoui design: Michel Boucquillon and Donia Maaoui translate the Bark collection's tree-inspired perforation into a functional coffee piece.
Made in Italy: Barkoffee is produced in Italy and has been part of the Alessi collection since 2020.
From Our Founder
"Barkoffee is a good example of Alessi taking a familiar brewing method and making the object itself worth leaving on the table. The stainless steel pattern protects the glass, but it also gives the press a presence that most French presses do not have."
Tony Boulton, Founder, Design & Grace
