Alessi Michael Graves 9093 Tea Rex Kettle
Italian-made 18/10 stainless steel kettle with black handle and copper-finish Tea Rex whistle
The Alessi Michael Graves 9093 Tea Rex Kettle gives the original 1985 kettle a new character through one carefully changed detail. The mirror-polished stainless steel body and black handle remain familiar, while Michael Graves replaced the famous bird whistle with a copper-finish creature inspired by dragons and prehistoric reptiles for the design's 30th anniversary.

A distinct Graves edition: Tea Rex keeps the proportions and stovetop function of the classic 9093 while replacing its most recognizable detail with a whistle designed specifically for the 30th anniversary.
The Bird Becomes Tea Rex
For the 30th anniversary of the 9093, Michael Graves reimagined the original bird whistle as a creature somewhere between a dragon, a prehistoric reptile, and a futuristic animal. The new whistle gives the kettle a different personality without altering the form that made the 9093 so recognizable.
The copper metallic finish stands out against the polished stainless steel body and black handle, making the whistle the visual focal point of the design.
Signature Features
Tea Rex whistle: Michael Graves' anniversary redesign replaces the original bird with a mythological reptilian creature finished in copper metallic color.
2 L capacity: Holds 67.6 fl oz for tea, French press coffee, pour-over brewing, and everyday hot-water service.
18/10 stainless steel body: Mirror-polished construction preserves the bright reflective finish of the original 9093.
Black PA handle: Provides contrast against the polished body and a secure grip for pouring.
Induction-compatible base: A magnetic steel bottom makes Tea Rex suitable for induction and other compatible stovetops.
Michael Graves design: Tea Rex builds directly on the landmark 9093 while giving the kettle a new anniversary identity.
Introduced in 2015: The Tea Rex version marked thirty years since the original 9093 entered production.
Made in Italy: Tea Rex is produced in Italy.
From Our Founder
"Tea Rex works because Graves changed the one detail everyone already knew. The kettle still reads instantly as a 9093, but the copper reptile whistle gives this version a completely different personality."
Tony Boulton, Founder, Design & Grace
