Alessi Salt Castor - Black
Italian-made 18/10 stainless steel salt castor with black PA base and lid, designed by Michael Graves
The Alessi Salt Castor in Black brings Michael Graves' distinctive mix of polished metal, strong geometry, and dark contrasting details to one of the table's simplest tools. Its mirror-polished 18/10 stainless steel body keeps the form bright and architectural, while the black base and lid connect it directly to the broader Graves collection.
Why Order from Design & Grace
Authorized Alessi retailer: Design & Grace is an authorized Alessi retailer, so you receive a genuine Michael Graves salt castor with Alessi's 24-month manufacturer warranty against product defects.
Ships from Texas: Your Alessi order is carefully packed and shipped from our Texas facility.
Designed to complete the Graves table: The black accents coordinate naturally with Michael Graves pieces such as the 9093 kettle, 9097 sugar bowl, 9096 creamer, and 9098 pepper mill.
A Small Piece of the Graves Collection
Michael Graves' Alessi work is defined by the contrast between polished stainless steel and colored polymer details, and the MGSAL carries that language into a compact tabletop object. The cylindrical steel body feels substantial without taking up much room, while the black base and lid give the piece a strong visual frame.
The result is a salt castor that works as part of a coordinated Graves setting or as a standalone table accessory with enough character to remain in view.
Signature Features
18/10 stainless steel body: Mirror-polished stainless steel gives the castor its bright reflective surface and durable construction.
Black PA details: The lid and base introduce the dark contrast associated with the black versions of the Michael Graves collection.
Compact tabletop size: At 4.45 inches high and 2.48 inches in diameter, the castor is easy to place without crowding the table.
Michael Graves design: The form carries the designer's recognizable balance of architectural geometry and approachable detail.
Made in Italy: The MGSAL salt castor is produced in Italy.
From Our Founder
"This is a small piece, but it carries the Graves language very clearly. The polished steel gives it presence, and the black base and lid make it easy to pair with the rest of the collection without feeling overly matched."
