Alessi Anna G. Corkscrew
Alessandro Mendini's iconic winged corkscrew in chrome-plated zamak
The Alessi Anna G. Corkscrew turns opening a bottle into part of the table experience. Alessandro Mendini gave the familiar winged mechanism a smiling face and human form, so the arms rise as the screw enters the cork and lower again as the cork is extracted.

A Corkscrew That Became an Alessi Character
Anna G. is one of Alessandro Mendini's most recognizable designs for Alessi. The figure transforms the mechanics of a traditional corkscrew into a small performance, with the smiling head turning as the screw advances and the two arms providing leverage to remove the cork.
The chrome-plated zamak version gives Anna G. a bright metallic finish and enough presence to live comfortably on a bar cart or dining table rather than disappearing into a drawer.
Signature Features
Winged corkscrew mechanism: The arms rise as the screw enters the cork and press downward to provide leverage for extraction.
Anthropomorphic design: Mendini turned the working parts of the corkscrew into Anna G.'s face, body, and arms.
Chrome-plated zamak: Gives the corkscrew its substantial feel and polished metallic appearance.
9.65-inch height: Provides useful leverage while giving Anna G. a strong visual presence on the table or bar.
Alessandro Mendini design: One of the designer's defining objects for Alessi and the starting point for the wider Anna G. family.
From Our Founder
"Anna G. is memorable because the mechanism and the character are completely connected. The arms rising and falling are not decoration added afterward. They are the way the corkscrew works."
Tony Boulton, Founder, Design & Grace
