Alessi Toru Electric Kettle
57.5 fl oz electric kettle in 18/10 stainless steel with black thermoplastic handle, lid, and spout
The Alessi Toru Electric Kettle gives Nendo's restrained design language a strong countertop presence in polished stainless steel and black. Its 57.5 fl oz capacity handles everyday tea and coffee service, while the distinctive tubular element appears to pass through the body and become both handle and spout.

Stainless Steel with One Strong Design Idea
Toru means "through" in Japanese, and Nendo builds the kettle around that idea. A black tubular element appears to pass through the stainless steel body, becoming the handle on one side and the spout on the other.
The result is visually distinctive without adding unnecessary controls or ornament. The polished steel body gives the kettle a more substantial feel than molded-plastic appliances, while the black thermoplastic components provide clear grip and pouring points.
Signature Features
57.5 fl oz capacity: Provides enough hot water for multiple cups of tea, pour-over coffee, or other everyday kitchen use.
18/10 stainless steel body: Gives the kettle its bright metallic finish and durable countertop construction.
Integrated handle and spout concept: Nendo's black tubular element appears to pass through the kettle, resolving two functional details with one visual idea.
Black thermoplastic components: The handle, lid, and spout contrast clearly with the polished steel body.
1500W US configuration: Model NE01 B/USA is designed for US electrical service.
Nendo design: Introduced in 2024 as part of Alessi's coordinated Toru stainless steel appliance collection.
From Our Founder
"Toru is a good example of Nendo making one design move carry the whole object. The black element becomes both handle and spout, while the stainless steel body keeps the kettle feeling substantial and clean."
