Use the Magnifier after or during sharpening to inspect the knife's cutting edge.
Hold the lens close to the bevel and adjust the viewing distance until the edge appears clearly in focus.
Inspect the entire edge from heel to tip for an even grinding pattern.
Check for visible traces of burr before considering the honing stage complete.
Use the Magnifier between refinement stages when comparing the effect of finer whetstones.
Handle the real-glass lens carefully and protect it from impact.
Remove fingerprints or dust with a clean, soft lens cloth.
Do not use abrasive cleaners on the lens or chrome-plated housing.
Keep the Magnifier dry and store it where the glass will not be scratched.
