The HORL Scissors are designed around one unusually useful idea: when the blades eventually lose their edge, you can sharpen them yourself. Forged from premium stainless knife steel in the Black Forest, the two scissor halves separate without tools and stand at the correct 45° sharpening angle so the edge can be refreshed with a HORL rolling sharpener.

Scissors You Can Sharpen at Home
Open the scissors past the resistance point and the spring-loaded quick-release allows the two halves to separate without a screwdriver or adjustment tool. Three integrated contact surfaces position each blade at a stable 45° angle, eliminating the need for the magnetic angle support used when sharpening knives.
HORL recommends the Ceramic honing disc for routine sharpening. The cross-hatch edge can also be refined further with compatible HORL whetstones when you want an even finer finish.

Use the tip for finer work and the section closer to the joint for more demanding cuts.
To separate the blades, open the scissors fully until resistance is felt, then move carefully beyond that point to release the spring-loaded joint.
Place each separated blade on its three integrated contact surfaces for sharpening.
The contact surfaces automatically position the blade at the correct 45° sharpening angle.
For routine sharpening, HORL recommends the Ceramic honing disc.
Secure the blade by hand while sharpening and work the ceramic surface along the bevel for approximately 30 seconds.
Sharpen both blades evenly before reassembling the scissors.
Compatible HORL fine and extra-fine whetstones may be used for additional edge refinement.
Do not cut wire, metal, wood, bone, or other hard materials not intended for household scissors.
Clean and dry the blades thoroughly after use.
