The HORL 3 Whetstone Extra Fine takes an already refined knife edge to the next level with a 6000 grit corundum surface. It follows the HORL 3 Whetstone Fine, further smoothing the grinding pattern for a cleaner cutting edge with less resistance through food.

HORL 3 Whetstone
A Refinement Disc, Used After the Fine
This is a refinement disc rather than an edge-setting surface. The knife should already be sharp before the Extra Fine stage, with the basic edge established and the Fine whetstone used first. Like the Fine disc, the Extra Fine whetstone is used dry and requires no soaking or water preparation.

Preparing the Edge for Kagami
HORL Quick Lock makes it easy to add the Extra Fine stage to a HORL 3 or HORL 3 Pro sharpening progression. For users pursuing HORL’s highest level of refinement, the Extra Fine disc also prepares the edge for the final Kagami polishing stage.

Use & Care
Establish and hone the cutting edge before using the Extra Fine Whetstone.
For the recommended progression, use the HORL Standard Diamond disc first, followed by the Ceramic disc and 3000-grit Fine Whetstone.
Attach the 6000-grit Extra Fine Whetstone with the HORL Quick Lock system.
Use the whetstone dry. Do not soak it or add water.
Roll the sharpener evenly along both sides of the blade using the same sharpening angle established earlier.
Use light, controlled pressure.
Refine both sides evenly until the desired finish is reached.
For a final finishing stage, use HORL Leather after the Extra Fine Whetstone.
Keep the whetstone dry between uses.
Do not place the whetstone in the dishwasher.
Use only with compatible HORL 3 Quick Lock sharpeners.
