The HORL 3 Whetstone Fine is the first step beyond the standard diamond-and-ceramic sharpening sequence. Made from quality corundum with a 3000 grit, it further smooths an already sharpened edge to reduce cutting resistance and produce a finer level of sharpness.

Where It Fits in the Process
Use it after establishing the edge with the Diamond Standard disc and removing the burr with the Ceramic Smooth disc. The Fine whetstone works dry, so there is no soaking or water preparation before sharpening. It gives cooks with quality knives a straightforward way to move from a clean working edge into more deliberate fine honing.

The First Whetstone Stage
HORL Quick Lock lets the whetstone twist directly onto compatible HORL 3 and HORL 3 Pro sharpeners. It also forms the first stage of HORL’s finer progression, followed by the Extra Fine whetstone and, for the highest level of refinement, the Kagami.

Use & Care
Establish the cutting edge first with the HORL Standard Diamond disc.
Use the Ceramic disc to remove the burr before moving to the Fine Whetstone.
Attach the 3000-grit Fine Whetstone with the HORL Quick Lock system.
Use the whetstone dry. Do not soak it or add water.
Roll the sharpener evenly along both sides of the edge using the same angle established during initial sharpening.
Use light, controlled pressure.
Refine both sides evenly until the desired finish is reached.
For additional refinement, continue with the HORL 3 Whetstone - Extra Fine.
Keep the whetstone dry between uses.
Do not place the whetstone in the dishwasher.
Use only with compatible HORL 3 Quick Lock sharpeners.
