The HORL 3 Kagami Ultra Fine Disc is the final refinement stage in the HORL 3 sharpening system, developed for knives that are already sharp and ready for a highly polished cutting edge. Its ultra-fine whetstone surface follows the HORL Fine and Extra Fine discs, polishing the bevel toward a mirror-like finish while taking edge refinement beyond HORL’s standard sharpening sequence.

Kagami is intended for cooks and knife enthusiasts who want to explore what a well-made blade can deliver after the basic sharpening work is complete. HORL developed the surface through testing with steels across a wide range of hardness levels, including European kitchen knife steels as well as high-quality carbon and Damascus steels.
HORL 3 Kagami Whetstone
Made in Japan
The disc uses HORL Quick Lock for tool-free changes on compatible HORL 3 sharpeners. Unlike HORL’s Black Forest-made sharpening system, the Kagami itself is made in Japan in collaboration with HORL’s manufacturing partners there, bringing a specialized final polishing stage to the HORL 3 system.

Use & Care
Use Kagami only after the knife has been properly sharpened and refined through the preceding HORL stages.
HORL recommends the sequence Standard Diamond, Ceramic, Fine Whetstone, Extra Fine Whetstone, then Kagami.
Lightly dampen the Kagami surface before the final polishing stage.
Do not soak the disc.
Attach Kagami to a compatible HORL 3 sharpener using the Quick Lock system.
Roll the sharpener evenly along both sides of the edge using the same angle established during the earlier sharpening stages.
Use light, controlled pressure.
Continue until the desired mirror-like refinement is reached.
Rinse or wipe away sharpening residue as appropriate, then allow the disc to dry completely.
Do not place the disc in the dishwasher.
Store completely dry.
Use only with compatible HORL 3 Quick Lock sharpeners.
