It is the same type of ceramic disc fitted to the HORL 3 and HORL 3 Pro, making it both a core part of the standard sharpening sequence and a direct replacement for the original disc.

Burr Removal and Dust-Clearing Grooves
Integrated grooves in the ceramic surface help remove grinding dust from the blade as you hone. The result is a more refined edge after the diamond disc has established the basic sharpness, without moving into the finer whetstone stages.

HORL applies the ceramic surface to a stainless-steel disc using a high-temperature blasting process. HORL Quick Lock lets the disc twist on and off compatible HORL 3 sharpeners for easy replacement or changes between sharpening surfaces.

Use & Care
Establish or refresh the knife edge first with the appropriate HORL Diamond disc.
Attach the Ceramic Honing Disc to a compatible HORL 3 sharpener using Quick Lock.
Roll the ceramic surface evenly along one side of the cutting edge using the same sharpening angle established during diamond grinding.
Turn the knife and repeat on the opposite side.
Continue until the burr from diamond sharpening has been removed and the edge feels even.
Use light, controlled pressure rather than forcing the ceramic surface against the blade.
The integrated grooves help carry grinding residue away during use.
For additional refinement, continue with the HORL 3 Whetstone - Fine and then Extra Fine.
Keep the disc clean and dry between uses.
Do not place the disc in the dishwasher.
Use only with compatible HORL 3 Quick Lock sharpeners.
