The HORL 3 Premium Set takes a properly sharpened knife beyond the standard diamond-and-ceramic finish with two progressively finer whetstones and a vegetable-tanned leather strop. It is the complete refinement set for HORL 3 owners who want a smoother edge, lower cutting resistance, and a cleaner final finish.

HORL 3 Premium Set
Two Whetstones, Fine Then Extra Fine
Start with the HORL 3 Whetstone Fine at 3000 grit, then move to the Whetstone Extra Fine at 6000 grit. Both corundum whetstones are used dry and are intended for an edge that has already been sharpened and freed of its burr. The two stages progressively smooth the cutting edge rather than replacing the initial sharpening process.

The HORL Leather Finishes the Edge
The HORL Leather completes the sequence. Its finely pored vegetable-tanned cowhide removes residual grinding particles and any remaining burr without requiring honing compound. HORL manufactures the Premium Set with regional partners in the Black Forest, including the specially developed whetstone materials and hand-finished leather edges.

Use & Care
Begin with a knife that has already been sharpened with the HORL Standard Diamond disc and refined with the Ceramic disc.
Make sure the cutting edge is free of burr before beginning the premium honing sequence.
Install the 3000-grit Fine Whetstone using the HORL Quick Lock system.
Use the Fine Whetstone dry. Do not soak it or add water.
Refine both sides of the cutting edge evenly.
Replace the Fine Whetstone with the 6000-grit Extra Fine Whetstone and repeat the process.
Use the Extra Fine Whetstone dry.
Finish by drawing the blade carefully across the HORL Leather to remove remaining grinding particles and traces of burr.
Keep the whetstones and leather dry between uses.
Do not place the whetstones or leather in the dishwasher.
Use only with compatible HORL 3 Quick Lock sharpeners.
Make sure the cutting edge is free of burr before beginning the premium honing sequence.
