When to Use the Coarse Disc
This is the disc to reach for when establishing the edge is the time-consuming part of the job. Once the coarse surface has done the heavier material removal, you can move through the appropriate HORL sharpening and honing stages to refine the cutting edge.

HORL Quick Lock
The stainless-steel disc uses HORL Quick Lock, so it twists directly onto compatible HORL 3 and HORL 3 Pro sharpeners without tools. HORL has the disc manufactured by regional partners near the Black Forest, combining its coarse diamond surface with the same interchangeable system used throughout the HORL 3 accessory range.

Use & Care
Use the Coarse Diamond disc when a blade is especially dull, lightly chipped, or needs to be reprofiled to a different sharpening angle.
Attach the disc to a compatible HORL 3 sharpener using the Quick Lock system.
Use the disc dry. Do not soak it or add water.
Roll the sharpener evenly along the full cutting edge using the angle selected on the magnetic support.
Work both sides of the blade evenly until the damaged area is corrected or the desired bevel has been established.
Use light, controlled pressure and let the coarse diamond surface remove the material.
A small amount of excess diamond material may release during the first use. This is normal.
After coarse grinding, continue with the HORL Standard Diamond disc before honing and finer refinement.
Keep the disc clean and dry between uses.
Do not place the disc in the dishwasher.
Use only with compatible HORL 3 Quick Lock sharpeners.
Attach the disc to a compatible HORL 3 sharpener using the Quick Lock system.
